It started out as a great idea – a nice stroll in Polson Park.
We made our way round the parking lot, and as we approached the path, we got a bit of a surprise. The ducks were advancing on us. They were here for bread -and they were not shy about it.
“Quack quack” one of them said to me. I wasn’t quite sure what he meant, so I took it as a threat.
Unfortunately I missed the photo opportunity: my wife running headlong into a sea of ducks.
“Duck duck duck duck” she said. She was looking for Goose.
I decided to help out, by looking for Maverick, thinking he of all people would know where to find Goose.
But alas, we came up short – Goose was nowhere to be found.
Near the tennis court, there was a mom there with her young kids. They had bread, so the ducks left us.
It made sense.
A lot of what I know about ducks, I learned from Mitch Hedberg: “A duck loves bread, but it does not have the capability to buy a loaf. That is the biggest joke on the duck ever.”
He will explain it better than I can …
