Okanagan residents will now have four flights weekly directly between Kelowna International Airport and Winnipeg starting this May.
WestJet announced this morning it is implementing the new summer flights starting May 29th that will run through until September.
WestJet will fly to Winnipeg non-stop Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 12:15 p.m. those days.
“As one of WestJet’s original destinations we know there is a strong draw for travel for both business and pleasure to Kelowna and area. This, coupled with an exceptional level of enthusiasm for WestJet is a telling sign of future success,” said Brian Znotins, WestJet Vice-President Network Planning, Alliances and Corporate Development. “And given the critical importance of air service to further encourage growth in the area, we are pleased to provide greater opportunities for the citizens of Kelowna to connect to Winnipeg and vice versa this summer.”
