What a glorious thing, whether you make it at home, or take out from your favourite place, everyone loves pizza.
And don’t even try and tell me otherwise, even if you can’t eat gluten…there are cauliflower crust pizzas.
If you are a vegetarian…there’s Zorba The Greek from Bostson Pizza!
And if you still maintain you don’t love pizza…well then we just can’t be friends.
So for WORLD pizza day, I’m going to share 5 of my favourite pizzas, just don’t be weird and eat them crust first.
Okay first thing’s first, pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza. Sorry Hawaiian lovers, so let’s start with the most popular slice…pepperoni.
Here is a recipe for a skillet pepperoni pizza, mmm. Tina’s Chic Corner describes it as “deep dish but without the grease.” Good for those watching their waistline!
I did mention that everyone can enjoy pizza, even if you aren’t a vegetarian, the Zorba at BP is seriously good. Even someone who doesn’t think a meal is a meal without meat will find themeslves sneaking a piece of the zorba.
I think it would be a travesty if Margherita pizza were not on the list, another vegetarian option, the basil, mozza, and tomatoes work in perfect harmony on your taste buds. Bonus points if the tomatoes came from your garden, basil too I guess…Here is a recipe for the best homemade Margherita pizza.
I know what your thinking, but yes I actually do like meat on my pizza sometimes. More than not it’s chicken I choose, but sometimes…a BBQ pulled pork pizza is just what I’m craving. Here is the recipe.
And now for the best pizza of them all…pear and gorgonzola with pine nuts, some may call it a flat bread, but it’s a pizza at heart, and it’s my absolute favourite. Talk about harmony with falvours, this is amazing and if your serving it at a party, people don’t scoff and say “she’s serving pizza?” because they are too busy devouring it.
Here is the recipe, it doesn’t call for pine nuts but I always sprinkle some on. Enjoy!
