It was a perfect February day in downtown Vernon, above zero temperatures, blue skies, and lots and lots of chilli.
The annual Downtown Vernon Association Chilli Cook-off took place Saturday afternoon, with 8 different businesses participating.
Last year, Shawn and I were judges in the competition, but we had to share a vote.(groan)
This year we were allowed one vote each, which made us (me) really happy.
400 tickets were sold this year and half of the proceeds went to support the Upper Room Mission.
It was a tough choice, but the judges chose Marten Brew Pub as their favourite.
People’s choice was awarded to Station BBQ, who had not one but two chilli’s entered. A sweet, and a heat.
And finally, Eatology walked away with the spirit award.
