You know how at the end of the year we talk about a word that perfectly sums up the previous 365 days?
Oxford dictionary puts out a ‘word of the year’ and so does Finland…sort of.
The countries tourism board has just introduced us to a new word (to me, anyway), and it’s perfect.
Kalsarikannit (pronounced cal-sar-y-cuhn-eet) is defined as “the feeling when you are going to get drunk home alone in your underwear with no intention of going out.”
How do they know me so well?
Last year, the word was hygge (pronounced hoo-gah).
It is a Danish word for the concept of finding coziness in everyday living, which was very comforting given the unrest in 2016.
I think this years word already aligns with my 2017 very well, don’t you ?
