The Queen of England is a fashion statement in her own right, she has an outfit in every colour and always accessorizes perfectly.
But it turns out The Queen’s accessories are actually quite important.
New reports from royal historian Hugo Vickers are giving some insight into secret signals the Queen uses to let her staff know when she’s done speaking to someone.
When she is ready to end a conversation, she shifts her bag from one hand to the other.
If she places her bag on a table, that means she’s ready to leave.
Another sign is twisting her wedding ring, which is a bad sign if you’re ever in a conversation with her majesty, it means she would like to be moved on from a conversation quickly.
Even at Buckingham Palace the Queen has certain signals she uses to alert staff.
She uses a discrete buzzer during official meetings that gives staff the nod to open the doors and accompany the guest out.
Other royals have trick like this too, apparently the Duchess of Cambridge carries a clutch bag in front of her in both hands to avoid awkward handshakes.
