While away on holidays, we did a lot of visiting with friends and family. We stayed with my sister-in-law – she has a zoo at their house: two dogs, two cats, four birds, fish, a hedgehog, and probably a few other things I’ve missed.
They have a big dog, and a little dog. We tried to smuggle the little dog home with us, but they got wise before we left. My favourite thing this dog did over our time with her, was to dig me out of bed.
The dog would see me sleeping, proceed to jump up on the bed, and sniff in my ear until she got some kind of reaction. Typically, that reaction included pulling the blankets up over my head and telling the dog to go away. At this point, The dog decides it is best to jump up on my head and start digging until I get out of bed so she can run laps around me as I try to begin my day without tripping down the stairs.
Waking up this morning to my cat pretending I don’t exist, just wasn’t the same.
And now this dog playing fetch at a hockey game:
