Hello to all those MOMS, working or at-home, single or married MOMS, grandmothers, great-grandmothers and those who have lost their mother but continue to remember their moms in special ways.
I have fond memories of baking with my Mother Rhona. I carry on the tradition with my daughters. Last night we were up late baking Mother’s Day Cupcakes and Brownies to sell in a Parents Advisory Council (PAC) Bake Sale to support such trips as the Grade 7 trip to SunnyBrae Bible Camp next month, of which I’ll be volunteering for. Wish me luck! Haha!
My girls came up with inspirational sayings to put on the cupcakes. What words would you use to describe your Mom? TALK or TEXT 250-545-7557, Facebook, Tweet, Instagram, record a message on the new Kiss FM APP, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Meantime here’s another story you might relate to:
“MOST MOMS ARE TOO BUSY TO BUY MOTHER’S DAY GIFTS FOR THEIR OWN MOM: If you are a mom with kids, you may be less likely to splurge on your own mom this Mother’s Day. A new survey by DealNews revealed 44 percent of parents will buy their mom a gift this Mother’s Day, as opposed to 56 percent of consumers without kids. Benjamin Glaser, features editor with DealNews says the findings make sense as when you have kids of your own, your attention shifts from your parents to them. And practically speaking, “there may not be enough time, money, or focus to get a gift and/or plan a Mother’s Day celebration for both the mother of your child, and your own mother.” (NBC News)
A reminder that there’s a Mother’s Day Pancake Breakfast this Sunday at Hullcar Hall, 4194 Hullcar Road, Armstrong. More details can be found under “Community” on 1075kiss.com
Sherry Farris stopped by the Kiss FM Studiio to tell us about it this week and she gave me this lovely Hullcar Pin.
Thanks to Sherry, and to all those celebrating their Moms this weekend, Happy Mother’s Day!
