When I was little and my parents took me to Disneyland I was given an allowance, 20 dollars or so to put in my novelty childs purse and buy whatever I wanted.
This was my first lesson in budgeting, it quickly became apparent that I couldn’t buy everything I wanted, life comes with hard decisions…the Tinkerbell hat or the Minnie Mouse charm necklace?
Fast forward twenty years and I still have the necklace, I like to think that young Jen Bailey was a fashion guru far beyond her years, and knew that the iconic symbol of ears and a bow would stand the test of time, but in reality it was probably the sparkles that won me over.
Nonetheless, the Minnie/Mickey ears are still iconic, it would be a mistake to say they are coming back in style (because I don’t think they ever left) but they are making a resurgence…in the form of shoes.
Minnie heels from designer Amina Muaddi of Oscar Tiye will cost you between $500 – $800 but how can you put a price on the never ending style of Disney?
