With so much talk about cute pets, these giraffes seem to fit. These ones are majestic looking, and extraordinarily rare – White giraffes that have a condition called Leucism – Don’t mistake them for albinos.
Having Leucism means the animal has pigment cells in soft tissues, such as eyes, but pigment creation is drastically reduced in skin cells, resulting in what you see here. This mother and calf were filmed by the Ishaqbini Hirola Conservancy in Garissa County, Kenya.
I’d like to submit these giraffes as my entry for the Cutest Pet Contest. Since I can’t win anyway, it shouldn’t really be a problem that there are likely laws preventing me from keeping a giraffe as a pet.
