The nostalgia is off the charts for something like this. About two months ago, Marvel released the official trailer for Thor: Ragnarok. It has since racked up 40.5 million views and has fans are geared up for November 3 when it hits theatres. So much of the production value in this trailer (and the movie in general) is reminiscent of the 1980s. Some of the nerds on the Internet have taken this nostalgia to the next level. The website, Nerdist, has produced a trailer and that we would’ve seen in theatres in 1987. They have gone to great lengths to ensure the quality is like that of watching a VHS that is slightly past its prime. It’s outstandingly terrible, and accurate, and I love it. Honestly, it makes me even more excited to see the movie (and I was already pretty excited.)
This is the fan-made trailer … it even goes so far as to include Lou Ferrigno’s Hulk instead of Mark Ruffalo.
This is the original (2017) trailer for context (and to watch it again.
