Hey, even dogs get the blues. And a study by Tufts University just might have the reason why your pooch is suddenly down in the dumps.
According to research, many dogs are suffering from the Back To School Blues. A veterinarian at the school claims some dogs get lonely in an empty house when students return to class. The pooches may lash out, bark, howl or whine due to separation anxiety. Other dogs may damage the home or belongings, while other canines simply experience depression and hide or cower as a result.
What to do if your fuzzy pal is experiencing some of these symptoms? The vet suggests curing the blues with scheduled playtimes and more attention. ~ Jason & Jen
