P.S. Lets not talk about the conspiracy theories about how they can lace the inks with mind control serum … nobody wants to go there.
Research and technology is making so many things possible that once seemed seemed so far off. From robots that vacuum the house while we’re away, to self driving cars – the future isn’t “coming” it’s here.
Take some medical/technological advancements – like the pocket sized blood glucose meter – and turn it into something embedded in your skin. The “Bio-Tattoo” is here, and will be available to humans in the very near future.
Scientists and researchers at Harvard and MIT have developed inks that change colour based on chemical reactions happening in the body. So far the inks have only been tested on pigs, but when ready for humans, we may be able to get tattoos that indicate blood glucose levels, hydration levels, sodium levels and probably a whole lot more.
For diabetics, a tattoo could mean no more daily (or multiple times a day) finger pricks. For athletes, it could mean training ‘in the zone’ more often, garnering even greater results from daily workouts.
Welcome to the future.
