A Vernon murder case looks like it will become a manslaughter case.
30 year old Tal La Riviere was set to go on trial before a jury Oct. 23 for second degree murder.
He was charged after the body of 42 year old Jason Hardy was found near the lawn bowling facility in Polson Park in August 2015.
Dan McLaughlin from the BC Prosecution Service says they expect to resolve the case.
“The accused has indicated he will plead guilty to manslaughter. To facilitate this process the Crown has sworn a new indictment charging the accused with one count of manslaughter.”
McLaughlin says the accused has re-elected to be tried by Provincial Court Judge and the matter has been adjourned to October 23 at 9:30 am for plea and sentencing.
