The best way to get Christmas decorating done when you can’t put up a Christmas tree is: A pineapple.
Seriously though. I thought the pineapple trend was done when I saw a single man in his 50s ask on Facebook “What’s with pineapple everything everywhere” but apparently the tropical fruit has a little magic left for the holiday season.
Grab a few Christmas balls, maybe some tinsel to decorate the leaves, and you are in business. For those who find themselves in the “it ain’t Christmas unless there are lights” camp, there are these lights – available on Amazon for about three dollars each. My sister-in-law sent a set of these lights to my wife and I last year, and I wondered what the hell she was thinking until I scrubbed the labels off a few wine bottles, and had some fun coiling the lights inside.
Now we have another set on the way to outfit a few pineapples around our house, and maybe around the office too. It’s a great way to get decorative and festive without having to invest in an entire tree, especially if you don’t want to full-size Christmas tree on your desk at work.
