RDNO Directors Wednesday evening endorsed the Greater Vernon 23017 Master Water Plan.
It included a number infrastructure projects over the next 25 years.
One of those projects, filtration for Duteau Creek was removed to be dealt with separately with government funding of a combined UV treatment –oxygenation program.
“That project is underway. Then it will be evaluated over the next couple of years because it’s brand new technology that’s being installed there. They did a test which was positive.”
The project should be completed in the spring.
The work is going to cost less than the original filtration plan and should achieve the same goal.
The Master Water Plan now goes to Interior Health for its approval.
