Vernon Search and Rescue got the call about 2:30 this morning to attend to a single vehicle that went down a steep embankment east of Cherryville and the lone driver was in dire need of attention.
It was estimated she had went over the bank around 4pm that afternoon and wasn’t discovered until much later by her husband, who called 911.
Pete Wise, Vernon Search and Rescue Coordinator said it was a total group effort that was needed to get her to safety involving them, Lumby RCMP, Lumby Fire Dept. and BC Ambulance.
Wise says the lady, who was very cold, was transferred by BC ambulance to Vernon Jubilee Hospital, where she is currently undergoing observation and any medical care.
