RCMP are downplaying suggestions that officers have resumed search activities at a farm on Salmon River Road near Silver Creek.
The site — which is owned by the Sagmoen family — is where the remains of 18 year old Traci Genereaux were found in October.
Police pulled their operations from the area in early November.
Corporal Dan Moskaluk says officers were searching around the Salmon River Road area last week, but reports of new activity at the farm, are not accurate.
“Somebody may have seen our officers there, and equipment, or even the private owner or a contractor being there doing reparation work, but not searching, no,” Moskaluk tells Kiss FM.
Moskaluk says the RCMP agreed to repair the ground that was disturbed during the earlier searching.
“From my understanding we were there again to consult with the property owners with respect to reparation to the grounds that were disturbed during the search,” adds Moskaluk
No charges have been laid in connection with Genereaux’s death.
Four other women who have gone missing in the North Okanagan and Shuswap since last year, remain missing.
