A week old dust advisory has been lifted for Vernon.
The Environment Ministry says last night’s rain lowered the level of course particulates in the air considerably.
The average for the past 24 hours is 16 micrograms per cubic metre, which is below the provincial objective of 50 micrograms.
The dusty conditions were mainly caused by road traffic stirring up winter traction materials.
The Vernon weather station at the Coldstream Ranch received 6.7 millmetres of rain Thursday.
