Two fires at the same house in Lumby are being treated as suspicious.
A home in the 170 block of Brookfield Road sustained extensive smoke damage after a fire around 11 pm Tuesday night.
The lone occupant was able to get out, suffering a minor injury.
“The home occupant was transported to the nearest medical facility for treatment,” says Cst. Kelly Brett.
About four hours later, at 3 am, Police and Fire were called back to the same site where fire had fully engulfed the home, causing significant damage.
“At this time, the RCMP are deeming both fires to be suspicious and both remain under investigation at this time,” says Brett. “The home was not occupied at the time of the second fire.”
Anyone with information on the fires is asked to call the Lumby RCMP at 250-547-2151, or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or leaving a tip online at www.nokscrimestoppers.com.
