About 60 homes in Armstrong are being put under evacuation alert due to rising levels on Meighan Creek.
Emergency program coordinator Warren Smith says homes on Willowdale Drive and Patterson Avenue will be issued the precautionary notice.
“Based on the increased levels, and what we anticipate that is still going to come down the mountain, we have concerns about residents who live along the creek system,” Smith tells Beach Radio News.
Smith says city staff is working on the alert notice and will be going door to door notifying residents of the situation.
He says The Township of Spallumcheen is dealing with some flooding issues on Powerhouse Road, also involving Meighan Creek.
