We’ve been waiting 27 years – which makes this news “most excellent”!
Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are set to return for the third installment of their ‘Bill and Ted’ series, according to a number of sources.
Theodore ‘Ted’ Logan and William ‘Bill’ S. Preston Esq. will reunite in ‘Face The Music’. This sequel has been a long time coming; the original film in the franchise, the cult classic ‘Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure’ debuted in 1989, followed by ‘Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey’ in 1991.
“We couldn’t be more excited to get the whole band back together again,” Reeves and Winter said in a statement. “(Creators) Chris (Matheson) and Ed (Solomon) wrote an amazing script, and with Dean (Parisot) at the helm, we’ve got a dream team!”
For the uninitiated, Bill and Ted are time traveling teens who once saved the world with rock n’ roll. And if the synopsis for the third installment is any indication, the duo has aged a little, but perhaps not matured a whole lot.
According to Deadline, “The new movie will see the two best friends as middle-aged men with family responsibilities who have yet to fulfill their destiny. They’ve written thousands of tunes, but they have yet to write a good one, much less the greatest song ever. With the fabric of time and space tearing around them, a visitor from the future warns the duo that only their music can save life as we know it.”
Party on, dudes! Here’s a still from ‘Entertainment Weekly’ on what the boys look like now…
