The 43rd annual edition of Creative Chaos is being held this weekend at the Vernon Rec Centre.
More than 200 vendors are there.
Spokesperson Joanne Horvath the popularity of the event never dwindles
“it seems to be popular. Everybody can look forward to it every year and we get a really big turnout of customers. You know, anywhere from 10 to 20 thousand people come through in three days.”
here will be some new vendors this year.
Joanne says there’s never a shortage of people wanting to sell their goods.
“We jury it. they apply. We have so many in each category, so once those categories are full then they have to go on a waiting list.”
Vendors are coming from all over BC and Alberta.
While it’s free to get in, organizers hope for food bank donations.
“If you have either a donation or a non-perishable food item. This is the big push we put on for the Salvation Army for the food bank.”
As well, any bottles and pop cans left in recycle barrels at the event are given to the Salvation Army to take in for refunds.
There is of course food and entertainment with the Performing Arts tent set up where the outdoor rink would be.
Creative Chaos runs today until 9 pm, then Saturday from from 10 to 6 and Sunday 10 to 4pm.
