It was on this date July 6, 1957 that 15-year-old Paul McCartney met 16-year-old John Lennon for the first time, as Lennon’s rock group Quarrymen performed at a church dinner. Also included in today’s new music reissues is “The Beatles – “Yellow Submarine [Vinyl]” (limited edition 7-inch single picture disc to celebrate the song’s 50th anniversary, with “Eleanor Rigby” on the B-side). All these years later Sir Paul McCartney is still making headlines, recently with his #Carpool Karaoake with James Corden, and now with the announcement that he’s making four Canadian stops with his Freshen Up Tour. So far there’s no word on a Vancouver date, but he will be in Edmonton the last day in September.
