The 1075 Kiss FM staff recently had a quick road trip to the Kal Lake Lookout for a staff work project and it ended up being a garbage clean-up party!
It really is amazing just how much garbage, clutter, trash accumulates over the winter season. I guess I just don’t understand when there are designated trash bins, why people don’t put their garbage in them, rather than leaving it on the pavement and grassy areas.
A couple of fellows from Venture Training arrived to do clean-up as well, and it chatting with them, we found out that they visit the Kal Lake Lookout on Monday and Fridays for regular cleanup. Also recently in Kiss FM News, it was reported that the Rotary Club of Kalamalka Vernon will be using some grant money approved by the District of Coldstream council to help maintain the Kalamalka Lake Lookout.
It’s great that there’s help with the clean-up process. But it is a reminder to all to put your trash in the bins provided, to keep this popular, well-known rest area looking spectacular.
