This has got to be the sweetest thing I’ve seen all week.
Death can be hard, especially for young ones, but sometimes a sad experience can be turned into a lesson.
Elementary students in Scotland gave their classroom goldfishes a real Viking burial after they passed away this week.
The grade 3 and 4 class at Papdale Primary School in Kirkwall had received the fish for Christmas, and named them Bubbles and Freddy.
Unfortunately, the pair only made it to February before going to fish heaven…or Valhalla.
Since the class was learning about Vikings and their gods, the class decided to give the fish a send off in true Old Norse fashion.
The students made little burial ships and sent Bubbles and Freddy out on a small creek by the school.
They even lit the ships on fire.
Unfortunately the ship fell over mid-burn.
