It’s been said before that you can’t catch up on sleep, so don’t bother laying in bed until 1pm on Saturday. But a new study from Sweden (love you guys) says differently, researchers from Stockholm University looked at a person’s age and how much sleep they get and found that if you bring up your weekly average by getting more sleep on the weekend, you could stay in better health.
Of course, this is only one study, so don’t use it as an excuse to stay up all week and then spend your entire Sunday in bed. Still, the lead researcher of the study says that it’s better to increase sleep hours on the weekend than not at all.
It’s also worth noting that a regular bedtime can improve focus and decrease stress, and the best bet is to have roughly the same amount of sleep every night.
So moral of the story is, if you feel so knackered come Saturday…don’t feel too bad about sleeping in.
Have a great weekend! ZZZzzzzZZzzzz
