Valentine’s Day usually takes a wee bit of budgeting….but for Cupid’s sake, this is ridiculous.
Every February, RateSuperMarket.ca does a ‘Cost Of Love’ survey (who knew?), calculating just how much of a hit to the pocketbook you endure when you find your soulmate. And this year’s price tag is more than a little jarring…
How did they come up with this number? Essentially by breaking down the average cost of everything from the first date to the “I do’s”. That means fancy dinner dates, casual movie dates, getaways, engagement rings, parties, etc. Granted, the cost of a wedding or honeymoon accounts for almost two-third’s of the cost of love alone ($46,401), so if you shave a few extravagant facets off the nuptials, you might not be in debt the rest of your days. 🙂
Still……….save your pennies, kids. ~ Jason
