A short standoff in Kelowna’s Glenmore area ended peacefully.
Police were called to the 2300 block of Silver Place this afternoon after a report of a distraught 50-year-old man, believed to be armed and alone inside a home.
Nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution, but a short time after that began, the man left the home and was apprehended without incident.
“The Kelowna RCMP Police And Crisis Team, a mobile team which provides community based crisis intervention and is comprised of a specially trained RCMP officer and an Interior Health psychiatric nurse, were called in to assist,” says Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.
Police have not said if charges are being considered.
