Kelowna RCMP say they have been inundated with numerous calls from very concerned parents, regarding rumours circulating on social media sites referring to alleged threats to Kelowna Secondary School.
Staff-Sergeant Brad Swecera confirms they were told of some threats and fully investigated the matter.
He says they determined the threats are not valid and the school principal and faculty were advised.
Staff-Sergeant Swecera cautions the students and parents as to the risk of using social media to spread inaccurate information.
This follows and alleged threat at Mount Boucherie School in West Kelowna, which also made the rounds on social media.
It was also determined to be an inappropriate comment by a student that investigators deemed not credible
