Lots of snow made for a busy alpine season at Silver Star Mountain Resort.
The Vernon area resort says skiers visits were up by 3,000 this season, compared to the 2017 alpine season.
Communications liaison and meteorologist Wesla Wong says the record snowfall was a big draw.
“We had our best snow in over 60 years. We had a great season, looking at our skier visits. It was a busy, but very successful season with the weather cooperating,” Wong tells CJIB-Beach Radio News.
Wong says the cumulative snow total for the season was over 800 centimetres, with about three metres of that, yet to melt, as of a few days ago.
“I’m sure of little bit of that may have melted, but for mid April, to have over 300 centimetres, it is a lot,” adds Wong.
