So much for a nice, quiet day of relaxation and friendly competition on the links..
At a high school golf tournament last weekend in Adrian, Michigan, a foursome had just teed off and were making their way down the fairway where a goose was sitting on an egg in a nest just off to the side. There WAS a sign warning the players of the goose, and the golfers were respecting the bird’s space.
But another goose, who suddenly appeared on the scene, didn’t get the memo that all was well. It quickly came up behind the golfers….
And it was very, very angry.
The goose attacked the foursome, with one particular golfer, Isaac Couling of Concord High School (the poor dude in the purple pullover) taking the brunt of its rage.
A witness, who was driving in a golf cart, said she attempted to get in-between the golfer and the goose. Devon Gilson-Pitts, whose husband is on the coaching staff for one of the competing teams, said it took four carts to keep the goose away and (eventually) retrieve the golfer’s clubs, which spilled out during the attack.
Neither man nor goose was injured.
Yo, Issac…….could’ve been worse. You’re on a golf course – it could’ve been an eagle. 🙂
