It can be hard to get your daily dose of fruits and veggies, and it sure doesn’t help that I reach for an iced coffee instead of an apple to help me get through the afternoon slump, but what if you could get some of your recommended servings of leafy greens first thing in the morning…with your coffee?
Australian government science agency CSIRO has developed a powder made from ground up broccoli, and they want you to put it in your morning joe. Or a smoothie, soup, or baked good, but…your coffee?
The powder is made from broccoli that would normally not be sold in shops due to imperfections, and two tablespoons holds the equivalent to one serving of broccoli. Researchers say that Australians (and the rest of the world) are still not eating the recommended amount of vegetables in a day, so they cooked up something to (literally) spoon feed our veggies to us.
So what do you think…your craving a broccolatte now?
