For those looking for healthy food choices at a reasonable price, the Good Food Box program is returning to the North Okanagan after a brief hiatus.
Spokesperson Donna Antonishak says the Good Food Box Society was formed in order to restart the popular program aimed at getting healthy food to people at an affordable price.
The program also has the support of All-Saints Anglican Church.
Antonishak says the boxes of produce will be available on June 21st but that people must pre-order by June 14th.
Information on where and how to pre-order and to pickup the boxes can be found online at the goodfoodbox.net.
While it’s not all local produce in the boxes, Antonishak says people can expect strawberries, lettuce and spinach from local farms when the first boxes are available.
“Our focus in to increase fresh fruits and vegetables for people who may be on a limited income but the more the merrier,” says Antonishak who added that anyone can apply for a box.
Large boxes are sold for $17 and small boxes for $10.
