The biggest hit the B.C. Lions delivered in their home opener on Saturday night wasn’t on their opponents.
During the game at BC Place in Vancouver, a fan…probably with a few too many beverages on board…decided to run across the field, wearing nothing but a cap, his home team jersey and a pair of boxer briefs. And Lions defensive back Marcell Young decided, for one brief second anyway, to play security and take buddy down. Hard.
Check out the footage..
The hilarious part of the footage is, immediately after the hit, Young’s teammates celebrating wildly like the player just got the sack of his life on a quarterback. The fan without pants? Yeah, I don’t think he was doing much celebrating at all. He was probably wondering….well, after he got the license plate of the truck that ran him over….was this REALLY a good idea?? And where are my pants??
Young, a seven-year CFL veteran, signed with B.C. this off-season. Can you say ‘instant fan favorite’?
SO let this be a lesson to you, young ones – it’s never an intelligent thing to go streaking, especially in front of thousands, on national TV, no less. And if you DO, don’t plan your route anywhere near the defensive players. You won’t like it. ~ Jason
