The RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit in Surrey has issued a new appeal to the public for help in connection with a shooting incident one year ago.
Police say the incident is connected to a red pickup that was stolen from the Vernon area earlier on July 9th, 2017.
Surrey officers rushed to the area after reports of a shooting between parties associated to two vehicles in the 7700 block of 147A Street.
A woman was found suffering from a gunshot wound although investigators believe she was not the intended target.
A photo of two suspects was captured on home surveillance video and is now being distributed to the public to assist in identifying them.
The suspects are also believed to be associated to the stolen red pickup truck which was located on fire a short distance away.
“Over the course of the last year, investigators have collected vast amounts of evidence which they are continuing to examine,” said RCMP Sergeant Chad Greig. “We believe there are people with information that will assist us in bringing this investigation to its conclusion, and we ask you to contact us and help bring some closure for an innocent woman.”
Anyone with information about this incident, the stolen vehicle out of Vernon, or the suspects is asked to please call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, or contact Crime Stoppers if you wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca
