The Central Okanagan Emergency Operations Centre has been deactivated.
Officials say the Centre no longer needs to remain operational now that all the evacuation alerts for the Okanagan Complex fires (Mt. Eneas, Goode’s Creek and Law Creek) have been lifted.
The Centre remains on standby and is ready for re-activation should there be another emergency.
The Mount Eneas fire, 4 km south of Peachland, has not grown in the last couple of days, according to information provided by the Wildfire Service.
It’s 1,793 hectares and still active.
“Today’s objectives are to extinguish hot spots and mop up. Night crews continue to mop up and patrol. On the north end of this fire the challenge continues to be patchy ground with some unburnt areas remaining in the perimeter. Good progress is being made with some sections having blackline 400 feet into the perimeter,” says the Service.
