He doesn’t have quite the booming pipes of Morgan Freeman, but at least he’s from the neighborhood…
Seth Rogen landed a new gig that probably has him feeling a burst of hometown pride. The actor, born and raised in B.C.’s lower mainland, is the new voice of Vancouver’s Public Transit System – and he’s looking forward to “enriching the lives of the Canadian people” (insert trademark Seth chuckle here).
Morgan Freeman was actually the original choice for the job, but the deal fell through when a heap of bad press involving Freeman’s behavior emerged – it’s a long story. Enter Rogen, as social media users floated the idea of having Seth voice the transit campaign. He’ll be heard making public announcements on the SkyTrain platforms, SkyTrains and buses now through fall, messages that encompass transit etiquette, tidbits about Vancouver, and his relationship to the region.
It’s really not a bad choice – you’ve gotta love his laugh (which, I understand, will be included in some of the announcements as well), and it seems fitting to go with a voice with ties to Vancouver. What do you think? Check out the preview of Rogen’s vocal brilliance for transit, below…. ~ Jason
