Residents and visitors who want to visit Kelowna’s Knox Mountain Park this weekend can do so on foot or by bike.
Due to the extreme fire danger rating, both the upper and lower sections of Knox Mountain Drive will be closed to vehicle traffic beginning on Saturday.
Parks Services Manager Blair Stewart says the street closure will remain in effect until the fire danger rating improves.
Meanwhile, Stewart asks everyone to be vigilant and if they notice smoke to call 9-1-1 to speak to the fire department or *-5-5-5-5 on their cell phone for the BC Wildfire Management Branch.
Smoking, campfires and barbecues are banned in city and regional district parks.
