Some people get very creative when trying to get the roads fixed close to home. Take, for instance, a Toronto neighborhood in the Rathnelly area. Residents there live near an ever-expanding sinkhole, and say they’ve been badgering the city to fill it for months. Since no progress has been made, frustrated locals turned the hole into…..a tomato garden.
Forget turning lemons into lemonade – these folks took a whole lotta crap and turned it into a whole lot of ‘crop’.
The sinkhole is big enough that only one car is able to pass at a time on the road, and residents now say it’s become “sort of like a community garden”.
So – did the effort work? Yup. The city’s mayor has now promised to fill the hole and move the tomatoes to an actual community garden.
There you have it, gang. You can complain…..or you can “get growing”. ~ Jason
