Enderby Mayor Greg McCune says his council has a good track record but there is more to accomplish.
McCune says he is running for re-election this fall.
He says the next council should seriously consider building a new pool for the community.
“The one that we have has served us for about 60 years and I think it’s beyond it’s past of repair,” McCune tells Beach Radio News. “That’s going to take some political measures to get that happening.”
McCune says he would like to see a pool similar to the one situated in the City of Armstrong.
The city would seek grant funding for much of the cost but he could not rule out some cost to the taxpayer.
“I think it would be up to to the citizens to go,’ you know what, for the price of three cups of coffee a month, yeah, that pool would be important to me.”
McCune says the current council has a good track record, pointing to the work carried out to improve Enderby’s infrastructure.
Many of the current councillors will be seeking re-election, the mayor said.
