A local political group has chosen its new leaders.
The North Okanagan Shuswap NDP Riding Association held an AGM in Armstrong Sunday.
Erik Olesen is the president, and Colin Toppin is treasurer.
“There was a small but enthusiastic group of New Democrats in attendance,” says Ryan Chaput, the party’s BC organizer.
Chaput says the new executive will be focused on building towards the 2019 federal election by recruiting volunteers, fundraising and planning a nomination meeting.
“They will also continue to campaign on issues like inequality, a universal pharmacare plan and tackling climate change.”
The association’s former executive resigned in June over a debt dispute from the 2014 campaign.
