Well here’s an old telephone booth put to good use! Can you see what’s inside of it? It is #JustBecauseDay, so I thought just because I wanted to share these photos I would. They are actually photos of a cool restaurant I visited while at St. Andrew’s By The Sea. What’s this classic telephone phone being used for? A: A wine rack!
Perhaps you love your wines and tried some over the weekend, over maybe over-indulged? Well there’s now more proof that hangovers do slow your brain down. Science says you should really take the next day off after a big night of drinking. Researchers at the University of British Columbia have found that a hangover actually reduces the electrical activity in the brain, which affects function short-term. During the body’s recovery period decision-making and learning processes are both impaired. Study author Olav Krigolson says, “Practically speaking, if you are hung over it might not be the best time to try and learn something new or make decisions that are feedback dependent. If you plan a big night out – take the next day off.” Source: The Daily Mail
Did you find your weekend just wasn’t long enough? New research says that a two-day weekend could be bad for our health and that a three-day weekend would be better. The report from a company in New Zealand found that having just two days off work can affect our body’s internal clock and our mood in a negative way. The two-month study tested a four-day work week for two months. They found that 78% of employees felt more in control of their work-life balance, compared to just 54% before the trial. Stress levels at the company also decreased by seven percent with overall life satisfacton increasing by five percent.
So hands up for all those who are in favour of a 3 day weekend? At least we have the Labour Day weekend on the way. Yahoo!
