The RDNO board has given 2nd reading to a zoning amendment bylaw regarding land to be used in extension of the BX Creek Trail.
It involves property being subdivided on Wallace Road and rezoned down to two hectare lots with a small piece of property to be designated as a linear park.
Board Chair Bob Fleming says the amendment was needed to adjust the site of the trail.
“When park staff went and looked at it, on the original plan it was on the north side of the creek and it made way more sense for it to be on the south side of the creek.”
A large portion of the trail is already in place from Swan Lake and as property is developed up the slope it will run to Silver Star.
