It’s always sad to hear about a celebrity passing, even though we’ve likely never met the actor, the average person feels connected to them through movies and television, and the memories that go along with them.
I didn’t grow up watching Smokey and the Bandit, nor have I seen Deliverance, but the impact that Burt Reynolds had on popular culture was not lost on me. He died yesterday at the age of 82 and it wasn’t long before tributes from other celebrities and friends came pouring in. I don’t think there was ever a question about Reynolds character, and it’s evident from the tweets and messages all over the internet today.
Worked with Burt Reynolds on a TV show once. He introduced himself by saying, "Hi, I'm Burt Reynolds. I used to be big in the 70's." How do you not love that?— Michael Ian Black (@michaelianblack) September 6, 2018
Burt Reynolds. True legend. Our hero. Funny as hell and a for-real badass. So many great movies. So many great stories. Such a great Dad. Will be missed by all. Deepest condolences to his family.— Adam Sandler (@AdamSandler) September 6, 2018
