Armstrong Mayor Chris Pieper is seeking re-election.
He filed his papers yesterday and says the biggest thing he struggled with was a 4 year commitment.
“It can’t be taken lightly. You really have to commit to going for a four year term and when you’re running for Mayor or council you can’t go in half way.”
He says it’s a full-time commitment.
“I thought about that all summer. Actually, probably the last year whether I was going to do it again or not. When you look back four years it goes pretty quick. When you look ahead four years, It’s almost forever.”
Pieper says having a good team on council played a role in making his decision.
He says everybody needs a goal to get up in the morning and being Mayor has been a good goal.
Pieper was first elected mayor in 2008 and was acclaimed during the last 2 elections.
