Three Kelowna Mounties saved the life of a woman by pulling her out of a burning vehicle.
The woman’s mini van crashed into a parking lot pole at the Sheraton Four Points across from Kelowna International Airport just after 4 am Monday morning.
The officers — who were in the immediate area — smashed out the windows and dragged the 30 year old unconscious woman from the Dodge Grand Caravan which soon after burst into flames.
She was taken to hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
“Investigators believe that a pre-existing medical condition, which caused the woman to go into medical distress behind the wheel, may have played a role in this crash,” says Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.
“The quick thinking and heroic actions taken by each of these outstanding police officers, no doubt saved a life today,” says District Officer Chief Superintendent Brad Haugli, In-Charge of the RCMP South East District.
