A 24 year old Vernon man is in custody after a break and enter at a local business Saturday morning.
Police were called to a B & E in progress about 4:30 am in the 4300 block of 25th Avenue.
The owner of the business called 911 while monitoring his security system remotely and was able to help the dispatcher guide officers to where a suspect was hiding inside a fenced area at the rear of the business.
“Having a good quality security system installed at your business or home can pay off and did so in this particular incident.” Says Constable Kelly Brett. “With live updates being provided by the business owner, the responding officers were able to tailor their response appropriately and execute an arrest safely and efficiently.””
The suspect was to appear in court today to face possible charges of break and enter and possession of break in instruments.
