Yesterday Brian told me he felt like he was getting sick. It makes sense, kids are back at school, the weather is turning colder, but since I am not interested in getting the sniffles or the flu, I decided to take precautionary measures. Now, whenever you tell someone you think you’re feeling ill, they rattle off a list of their home remedies. I’m not saying that’s bad, just that there is a laundry list to choose from and who knows what really works?
My mom told me to wash my hands more often, my fiance said a combination of echinacea and vitamin C will do the trick, and my dad’s advice was to keep an onion beside my bed.
Ultimately I went with my own remedy, which tastes better in my opinion. Roasted garlic, and water with lemon. That plus lots of sleep. What are your tried and true ways to stave off a cold?
