Armstrong’s mayor isn’t sure what to think of winning another term by acclamation.
Chris Pieper says he’s won three of his four terms that way, which he finds surprising.
“I fully expected to have someone run, just on the interest of being there, but that didn’t happen, so I’m happy and looking forward to another four years, and we’ll see what happens.”
Pieper feels it’s more an endorsement of the job his council has done the last four years.
“We will have pretty close to the same. We could have one change with 7 people running, but all of the councillors in the past have done a good job.”
All six of the current councillors are running again along with one other person Jim Wright.
“A lot of times people are pretty complacent about what’s happening (with the city) and elections usually bring out questions, and it educates the whole community,” says Pieper.
